CREATORS, WHAT WOULD YOU DO:
i know a Creator who was making $10,000 a month from his YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch
he was barely trying yet built his brand to $10K monthly doing Gaming Content
he started college recently and struggles to balance College and Content at the same time
now his income is slowly falling because he’s uploading and streaming WAY less
Would you drop out / take a gap year to focus on only being a Content Creator to see what can happen?
Or would you stick with college and just hope for the best?

TikTok Creator Fund is ending and to be part of the Creativity Program you need 10,000 followers and 100,000 views to apply to the program.
The Creativity Program pays for videos over 1 minute.
This throws true short form creators, what TikTok was known for… under the bus and is a huge shakeup.
This is going to disqualify a lot of users who would otherwise flock to the platform.., the traffic on the platform had already dropped in the last 2 years from the highest trafficked website to not being in the top 10…
While I don’t think anything short of China invading Taiwan will get to TikTok banned at this point …
I think it’s undeniable the platform is losing its relevance.
Many new Creators already are saying it’s harder to grow than ever and the fast easy growth that made it appealing no longer seems to be the norm.
While the Creativity Program does pay better it doesn’t pay as competitively as YouTube overall done it’s wrongly compared to YouTube Shorts… for videos over 1 minute that should be compared to standard YouTube videos.
Time will tell… but as I said I think TikTok in 3-5 years will only be as relevant as Snapchat.
We will see how it handle courting creators as the Creativity Program is still in Beta… and as TikTok continues to push long form and pay for it despite being built on short form creators.
I predict this will not work as well as TikTok hoped it would.

Things/mistakes I am noticing on YouTube right now:
- Watch time is king right now. Watch time is even making up for poor thumbnails and lesser content. It is powerful. Use it to your advantage while you can.
- What some are considering storytelling, slowing videos down, leaving more scenes in etc all point, to me, to more watch time which is the true reason that these videos are performing better. I still do not know for sure if this is viewer behavior leading the algorithm, or YouTube wanting people spending more time on videos and therefore leading viewer behavior. I for one have been enjoying long videos more than ever so maybe a little of both. Either way, watch time is key but all other elements need to be as good as possible ofc.
- Trends and new innovative content has been hard to come by and youtube has been stagnant. The channels that innovate and dig deeper for the buried diamonds during these periods will win until the next big "easy views" trend comes along like what we saw with Fortnite, make up tutorials, etc where everybody eats
- YouTube is oftentimes more about risk minimization than it is pushing the ceiling higher if a longterm consistent income is the goal. Youtubers using proven, long lasting concepts that transcend YouTube and have been in movies and media for years (can see with MrBeast's yachts, hotels, big houses, trains) will continue to have safe floors and potential high ceilings. Find the timeless trends and conceptualize your videos around them to lessen 10/10s + break into new audiences
- YouTube drama seems to be back on the menu, everyone picks a side and is excited for a week or two and then we all lose. Avoid fighting with other youtubers, there is no positive end even if you win. Focus on your own business and keep grinding. Also avoid doxxing other youtubers...
- Editing is *audience based.* What works for your audience may not work for another and vise versa. Be very careful about editing advice and applying it to your specific channel and style.
- Your channel's future depends on testing possible doors opening. The 80/20 upload rule I personally use is about relying on 80% of your videos being proven and a high chance of succeeding in your current audience, 20% NEEDS to be an intentional test that could potentially open the door wide open and take your channel to new levels, even at the risk of short term failures and 10/10s. Choose your test videos wisely and intentionally. Good for creativity as well.
- YouTube is a longterm game. Oftentimes channels that blow up fast die fast. Get your mind set on years to come so the daily battle takes less of a toll.
Couple pieces of experience and observations to share with you from what I'm seeing with the channels I work with, calls I'm having, and mistakes I keep seeing that is hindering views. Hit like or follow please if this helped 👍

@YouTubeLiaison @TeamYouTube everytime I post a video with a certain person in the title my video gets a yellow $ sign upon uploading. Nothing is wrong with it but for some reason it keeps triggering that it isn’t ad suitable. My videos are very time sensitive so please help me!
