How is this happening: GCP major outage; Cloudflare major outage… at the same time! Never seen this before Their infra is fully independent AFAIK

Is internet down because of ubuntu unattended-upgrades? Tracked down issues to work around it by disabling and now seeing this describe a root cause github.com/kubernetes/kop…

@iben I have AirTags on order but they didn’t get here in time (wife & I had just discussed this as additional protection). Truck has OnStar but they say they don’t have a location (but are coordinating with police & will keep trying).

Wow…my truck was stolen off the street in front of my house last night/early this morning. That’s not cool.

@verizonfios what’s with the slow internet speeds across Fair Lawn? People keep calling and you keep telling them it’s the router but all of our routers can’t be malfunctioning at the exact same moment!

@nickrusso42518 The good old days, where I would run an ansible playbook, and while waiting for it to fail I would hop onto slack!!

Stuff like this reminds me of the NTC Slack room circa 2017 with @itdependsnet having to field these questions every 15 minutes.

After some octal dumping and doc checking, turns out the Ansible file lookup strips trailing ws by default, but not leading ws. Come on now, both should be disabled by default, don't strip unless told!

@nickrusso42518 Walk my dog everyday, I do not cross a driveway when someone’s backup lights are on. I’ll back up cross the street go one house over, but will not cross.

If there's one thing I learned as a post-surgical patient who now walks many miles everyday: When cars are in sight, just wait to cross. If they wave you to go, turn your back to them. Maybe it's disrespectful, but I've been waved across and nearly flattened by the SAME CAR.

@SharpNetwork It's never really a loan. Giving money to family or friends should be seen as a gift. Don't ask for it back unless you're willing to estrange the person.
