As a Yoruba man, if I have to choose between Tinubu and Seyi Makinde, the choice is not far fetched. Seyi Makinde is miles ahead of Tinubu. And since it’s all about “ọmọ wa ni” Yorubas might as well go for a more competent ọmọ wa. Not the disaster in Aso Rock.

Seyi is definitely going to reduce PBAT’s votes significantly in Oyo State, and to a lesser extent in other South West states. It’s net negative for PBAT, definitely.

Oyo state has the highest voting population in SW after LAGOS. Makinde will do more than 30% in Oyo state. He will pick up few thousand votes in other SW states. The president is quite unpopular. SW should be a clean sweep. Saying it’s not a negative for PBAT is delusional at best.

If I were PBAT, I will enter into an agreement with Seyi Makinde to pick his successor, while he delivers Oyo state to him. I don’t have time for all these political gymnastics. I believe Makinde is waiting for that call. In 2023, PBAT wins by 449,884 votes, Atiku polled 182,977, Obi polled 99,110. Imagine adding Seyi Makinde to the mix Oyo is not that progressive. You guys should better smell the coffee.
