@LOVtheCOV @unusual_whales My wife lost 200lbs from Bariatric surgery, and had excess skin removal along with Lipedema liposuction surgery, all covered by insurance. Some insurance companies don't suck AS bad as others, but yeah, universal healthcare would save us all a ton of money.

And it doesn’t cover anything. I’m paying 1200 a month for insurance for my son and I, and when we thought he had broken his arm, we learned that the insurance doesn’t cover any orthopedist, and that we would have to go to a state university hospital and wait in line to get it put in a cast. At the same time I know for a fact that people on Medicaid get free bariatric surgery at a cost of like $60,000 and a very low success rate for long-term weight loss. The system is broken because we are covering stupid things for stupid people.
