Teargas in a Hospital, a Thoughtless Act. I have just read the recent troubling reports of how the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly stormed the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital in a bid to arrest Professor Eyo Ekpe, a professor of cardiothoracic surgery and deputy chairman of the hospital’s medical advisory committee. While I understand and respect the fact that the EFCC, and indeed, all other government agencies have their constitutional rights to do their jobs without interference, the manner in which some of these jobs are carried out is often deeply troubling. Reportedly, the EFCC operatives who stormed the hospital shot some teargas canisters within the hospital premises which sent medical staff and patients running for safety. This thoughtless act greatly compromised the general safety in the hospital environment and further jeopardised the health of the medical personnel and the sick people in the hospital. I have always said that the most fundamental intangible asset upon which any nation functions effectively is the rule of law and order. The disorderliness allegedly demonstrated by the EFCC operatives at the hospital must not be encouraged. Nothing justifies the use of teargas canisters in a fragile hospital environment. Do we not realise that our hospitals are part of our most critical contributors to development? We must also learn to respect the lives and dignity of our citizens. If a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery is arrested in such a demeaning manner in a hospital environment, what signals are we sending to other medical professionals working hard to keep our health sector afloat? It is reported that Nigeria has only 80 cardiothoracic surgeons serving its 230 million people, and the Prof Eyo Ekpe is the only one in Akwa Ibom State. Let us learn to do better. Let us condemn and eschew the rascality and disorderliness that have continued to characterise some of our public offices and bring in civility in the discharge of our duties. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

The march to restore prosperity and better days to our beloved nation took a firm and decisive step forward today at the National Secretariat of our great party, the African Democratic Congress. This is more than a political journey; it is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal, and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair. I call on all Nigerians, regardless of region, faith, or background, to join us in this noble cause. Together, we will restore the promise of our nation and bring good times back again. -AA

N800 billion from government coffers was diverted into Tinubu's campaign under the watch of Gov. Hope Uzodinma. These APC people, why are they behaving like this? This N800,000,000,000 is money meant for the people, yet it is now being used for Tinubu's second-term campaign while Nigerians are suffering daily. Is this really democracy? People are hungry. Things are hard. Instead of using public funds to improve lives, the money is allegedly being pushed into politics and campaigns. This is not right at all. What kind of country is this?

Obidients, look at the full picture. This Global LeadHaus graphic is not just “good news for Obi.” It is a loud warning siren. Raw support says Peter Obi is far ahead: Peter Obi: 67% — about 2,307,150 respondents Tinubu: 23% — about 792,350 respondents Atiku: 6% — about 206,700 respondents Others: 4% — about 137,800 respondents On popularity alone, Obi is eating the field alive. Tinubu is far behind. Atiku is distant. Amaechi, Makinde, Sowore and the rest are barely breathing in the numbers. But elections are not won by popularity inside a survey. Elections are won by people with PVCs. That is where the danger starts. Only 18% of Obi’s supporters in the sample had PVC, giving him about 415,287 PVC-ready supporters. Tinubu, with only 23% raw support, had 79.6% PVC ownership, giving him about 630,311 PVC-ready supporters. Atiku, despite just 6% raw support, had 72.6% PVC ownership, giving him about 150,064 PVC-ready supporters. Others had 46% PVC ownership, giving them about 63,388 PVC-ready supporters. So the real PVC-ready race in this dataset becomes: Tinubu: 630,311 Peter Obi: 415,287 Atiku: 150,064 Others: 63,388 That means Obi can be massively popular and still be electorally exposed. Tinubu can be less popular and still be better positioned because his voters are ready to vote. Atiku’s base may be smaller, but it is also more PVC-prepared than Obi’s by percentage. This is the message: Obi is winning preference. Tinubu is winning voter readiness. Atiku’s smaller camp is also more PVC-ready. The smaller candidates are not the threat. The PVC gap is the threat. No more comfort in crowd size. No more social media chest-beating. No more “we are many” without proof of registration. The assignment is simple: convert sympathy into PVCs, convert noise into ward-level structure, convert support into actual voters. Because on election day, INEC will not count passion. INEC will count accredited voters. No PVC, no power. ONLY 42 WORKING DAYS LEFT TO INEC FINAL PVC DEADLINE!!! cc: @PeterObi @KwankwasoRM @1MMCSpace @EmirSirdam @ruffydfire @firstladyship @RealQueenBee__ @Peter4Nigeria @AishaYesufu @EstherUmoh10 @NaijaPrez @Sports_Doctor2 @UnkleAyo @ifesalakooffice @tudobams @DrOaikhena @iamHSDickson @NigeriaNDCHQ @n6oflife6

If not for personal ambition, greed, political incompetence, and lack of patience, can someone explain why Peter Obi left the coalition without even waiting for the primaries? A serious leader who truly believes in democracy and coalition politics would stay, test his popularity through the process, and allow party members decide. Walking away before the primaries only creates the impression that he wanted everything handed to him without contest. Leadership is not built on emotions, online noise, or entitlement. It is built on strategy, patience, negotiation, and the ability to work with others even when things do not go your way.
