Wild to see ppl get mad that the world has seemingly forgotten about a bloody ear when the same ppl could not care less about children getting murdered in schools. The cognitive dissonance would be impressive if it weren’t so repugnant.

@dustychipura Have you received any other communication about that behavior specifically before this? Progress reports should be strictly academic, behavior issues should be communicated with immediacy when they arise, not as a summation of a student's work.

My daughter got her first report card in music in Kindergarten. Those with #adhd will understand why the second paragraph brought tears to my eyes… in 2024, really? My brothers’ elementary school report cards said the same thing word for word.

There needs to be more of a middle ground between no tolerance and no consequences. Because schools are not thriving.

The phrase "build relationships" is being weaponized to place blame on Ts instead of the conditions nurturing problematic behaviors in schools. I'm thinking of reconsidering it to "building trust..." It shows it's a process, complex, and it feels more authentic.

It’s not white supremacy. I wanted straight hair when I was 5. I STILL want a cute bob. I wanted tan skin instead of my Polish Irish Scottish pale skin. She’ll get over it. Don’t get hung up on what your 5-year-old wants. Tomorrow she’ll decide she’s a unicorn.

Now more than ever, it is absolutely imperative for allies to show up for the trans kids and teachers in your lives. Not just in Florida but everywhere.

This is at a "good" NYC public school. And by all accounts her teachers were great. and my kid made wonderful friends, learned a ton (just not how to read), and had a great K experience. And other kids did learn how to read. But this really left a terrible impression on me.
