@itsadambrown Lake O has had its share of drug and gang related activities within the last 3-4 years. Portland’s wealthy suburbs with tidy landscaping aren’t exempt from crime.

@rogerseheult Spot on. Typical modern LED bulbs (even “warm white” 2700K) emit WAY less deep red/NIR (600–700+ nm) than old incandescents. Incandescents had a smooth blackbody spectrum rich in red; LEDs have a blue spike + yellow hump and a weak red tail. That’s exactly why red-light therapy is exploding—our homes now run on red-deficient lighting. Great call-out on indoor lifestyles!

The is one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world now acknowledging the benefits of long wavelength light (red or infrared light) therapy and the fact that we are indoors more now than ever before. For those that have had to endure scorn from fellow clinicians when talking about the benefits, this is validation. For those who still think this is woo woo, open a journal and your mind and realize that the world is passing you by. This is now the science!

It genuinely breaks my brain to imagine what 1400 hours of annual sunshine must be like to live in. When going to college in Chicago, I really struggled with the seemingly endless gray of the winters. Chicago gets 2500 sunshine hours!

I was advised by my doctor that I am pre-diabetes. So I started the keto diet a few weeks ago, have lost 20 lbs just eating steaks and eggs, water. Today was my first fasting blood sugar test below 100 mg/dL. It was 96. Keto diet does work to fix diabetes, no medicine required.

@Random832 @_MaxiTB @DJSnM @surmoulage You’re correct. I was absolutely ignorant of this new rule. My UK passport is expired, and my kids do not have UK passports. Think it might be time to seriously consider ditching the UK citizenship.

Well... this is embarrassing. I just discovered my UK passport expired in January. And while I have a US passport I can't use it to travel to the UK for the event I'm supposed to be at in 2 weeks. If I were just a US citizen I would get an ETA, but that's not allowed for someone with a UK passport. It'll take a month to renew my passport. So yeah I know it's my dumb mistake, but this isn't rocket science. I see some sources saying I can travel in the UK with US passport and recently expired UK passport but that doesn't tell me whether I can *leave* again with the expired passport. This whole thing recently changed on February 25th, and the only help on the subject appears to be a chatbot which acts as a search engine. Maybe I can find a human being at the SF Consulate @UKin_SF
