@itsbrianmiller No but really: does the offside rule just mean the defense could, theoretically stand out if kicking distance of the goal and the offense can never get closer than that?

My son’s soccer game is 6-1 at the half. I was under the impression soccer only allowed 3 scores max so this is riveting.

In practical terms, It’s really good for us to keep in our minds that there are basically two categories of reality we encounter in our everyday lives: 1. That which I am called to control. 2. That which I am not called to control. The reason so many people in our culture are dreadful at the first category is because they spend so much time raging against the second.

Just witnessed a triple play in the second grade baseball game! Truly incredible.

At my home parish, I met a young adult woman who was baptized and confirmed and receive first communion. She said she grew up in the neighborhood and was always curious about the faith and in the last year and a half started asking lots of questions and just knocked on the door.

@jdflynn It’s definitely something we hear from a lot of the pastors we work with and not just the ones who who are visibly and naturally gifted.

But the anecdotal evidence that “something is happening” seems pervasive among Catholic pastors.

Adding to the complicated picture of prospective religious revival in America. OCIA is reportedly up, non-religious identification declining, religious service weekly attendance, including Mass, still seems down. Is there a statistically evident religious revival? Hard to say
