Sure didn't stop them from cranking out thousands of stories about Gaza, including today, even though they can't enter Gaza. Nor did it stop them from citing reports on deaths, etc. produced by Hamas controlled agencies. They don't need a Tehran bureau to make some effort seriously to cover this massive story. There is an endless stream of content emerging from Iran. There are credible think tanks, academics, Farsi speaking journalists et al analyzing that content for veracity, geolocating it, translating it, etc.. People are literally being machine gunned down in the streets right now in Iran. You can see horrific footage online. Eleven stories on one shooting in Minnesota yesterday, but last I checked not on the violence in Iran happening right now.

It’s almost like starved legacy media outlets without foreign bureau budgets can’t report on places like Iran because they don’t have the resources to have people on the ground. But keep calling for CBC to be “defunded.” That’ll help the situation.
