I didn’t say anyone wants to kill people. I said the industry has a history of indifference toward it. I assume Merck didn’t want Vioxx to kill 50,000 people. I assume Purdue Pharma, Pfizer, etc. didn’t want their opioids to lead to ~900,000 people dying from overdoses. But they all made decisions based on incentives. Seems cold-blooded to me, but I understand it.
