Somewhere in Northern Nigeria, my classmate Fr. Bk Nwoha SMA, has had to shift his Easter Vigil celebrations to this morning for the sake of Pastoral/Security. God bless all priests in the missions. Amen. This is the Catholic Church.Where others can't go/preach/celebrate,We Go.

Whether you repent or not, that's between you and God. What our Pope is trying to do is to demonstrate the healing power of God. Remember the story of Jesus and the leper? (Mark 1:40-45) In a Christian community, there should be no outcasts. Be welcoming and accepting. Peace!

We are all sinners seeking God's love and blessings...all the time! God blessing us (via Pope, priest and other religious) does not mean that HE approves of the wrongs we've done in our hearts rather it's a call for us to repent from our evildoing.

The sacrament of matrimony, or marriage, is a sacred institution reserved for baptised individuals, specifically between male and female, as created by God for their well-being and the procreation and education of their offspring. The Roman Catholic Church has consistently upheld this teaching based on the Scriptures. Recent headlines about Pope Francis's declaration, "Fiducia supplicans," which addresses questions raised by some bishops regarding the sanctity of marriage, may have left you contemplating the potential consequences of such approval, especially concerning same-sex couples. Let me provide some explanations. Firstly, the Church remains steadfast in her core biblical teachings on the nature of marriage, emphasising its foundation between a man and a woman. However, it is crucial to understand the declaration itself. Contrary to some interpretations, the document does not signify an approval of same-sex marriage. Rather, it aligns with a fundamental principle of the Church: "bless, not curse" (Rom. 12:14). The declaration emphasises that a blessing serves as a means to deepen trust in God, expressing and nurturing openness to transcendence, mercy, and closeness to God in various life circumstances, even for those in irregular unions. The document clarifies that when a couple in an “irregular” situation or same-sex couples seek a blessing, it should not coincide with the ceremonies of a civil union or bear resemblance to wedding rituals. Instead, it suggests alternative contexts like visits to shrines, meetings with priests, group prayers, or pilgrimages. Now, you might wonder about potential risks to the sanctity of the sacrament of matrimony. Could this lead to consciously blessing sin, and what are the limits to this blessing? These are valid concerns. The declaration emphasises that blessings should be evaluated as acts of devotion, and those seeking a blessing should not be required to demonstrate moral perfection as a precondition. It acknowledges that spontaneous requests for blessings can occur in various settings, meant for everyone without exclusion. There is no cause for alarm. However, it is crucial to constantly pray for the Church and her leaders, recognising the need for more grace. May these developments not weaken your faith. Amen. Feel free to ask any questions. 🙋🏾‍♂️ Fr. James Anyaegbu

Sometimes heroes don’t wear capes, they just wear hearts on their sleeves, like Roberta Bell of Mississippi. When faced with a conflict of interest, this former prison guard chose her heart over bureaucracy, and the world is better for it. cbsnews.com/news/roberta-b…

Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine tuning the wording I’ve adjusted mine too. Achieving such a record is no small feat, and I know this firsthand. I have only the greatest admiration for the hard work it took for Alan to reach such heights. Sportsmanship is about recognizing progress, whether the accolade is in my bio or not. I remain a record holder in spirit and in history. Let’s celebrate achievement and the spirit of competition.

St. Jude Thaddeus, Pray for us 🙏🏽 St. Jude Thaddeus, often referred to as the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes, was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus Christ. His exact birth and death dates are not certain, but it is believed that he lived during the first century AD. St. Jude is traditionally identified with Thaddeus, one of the apostles mentioned in the New Testament. He is recognised for his unwavering faith and commitment to spreading the teachings of Jesus despite challenging circumstances. Many individuals turn to St. Jude in times of deep distress, seeking his aid for issues like illness, financial struggles or lost causes. St. Jude's feast day is celebrated today (October 28th), and he is venerated in various Christian denominations. His life and the miracles associated with his intercession have inspired a deep and enduring devotion among Christians seeking solace and assistance in challenging circumstances. Happy feast day 🤩
