I ran a revenue audit on our @stripe account this week. It took 4 minutes and 47 seconds. The same task used to take a finance team member 30–60 minutes: export CSVs, map price IDs, filter by date, cross-reference subscriptions. Here's what I asked Claude: How many active accounts did we have in February 2026 with paid subscriptions between X–Y $/month? But the number wasn't the most valuable part. Claude flagged two things I would have missed: 1. Metered billing creates ambiguity. 77% “under $ X-Y” subscriptions include usage-based components. Their actual February invoices could exceed $ X-Y The base price alone doesn’t confirm the true billed amount. 2. API key permissions matter. The Stripe API key I’d configured lacked invoice search permissions, so Claude couldn’t validate exact February 2026 invoice totals. It told me directly, explained the gap, and told me exactly what permission to add to close it. A junior analyst delivers the number. Claude delivered the number and the caveats I needed to trust it.
