The more I think about it. I think that it’s 3. Alcaraz and Sinner likely both “dopers.” Everyone pretty much agrees on that. Sinner was the only one that got caught and is now seen as a doper for the rest of his career. Sinner is rightfully upset that he’s the only one taking all the heat. So to make it a little more fair and keep him from exposing that Carlos also cheats. Carlos’ team agreed to sit out a predetermined amount of time and let Sinner catch up or even surpass him.

I've seen many theories about Alcaraz: - His injury is worst than expected. - He's serving a silent ban or failed a drugs test and awaiting the investigation. - He's been told to let Sinner catch him up in the slams. - He's disillusioned with the sport. All could be plausible?
