I recently talked to a founder who went to one of those self help seminars (ikyk) and all they told him for 2 hours was to get rid of his “ego”. BUT EGO MAKES MILLIONAIRES The reason I demand excellence from my team is partly ego. I love knowing my team is the sharpest in the industry. When we roll out a new feature at my software company and blow past competitors who've been around for 6 years, it feeds that same ego and I love it. And because I’ve channeled it, it’s pushed me to do better constantly. The only catch is that you need something to keep yourself in check. Could be through faith, prayer, or difficult situations in general. I get humbled all the time because I put myself in places where I know life will humble me. You need to do the same, but don’t fall for the self help BS that says ego is bad and you need to get rid of it completely. Every operator who wins BIG channels their ego for the better.
