I don’t understand why we need a Jewish American Heritage Month. Many Jewish Americans are already mainstream-famous. We don’t need any help promoting our culture. Why don't Papuans get a state? Why don't Tamils get a state? Why don't the Naga get a state? Why don't Chechens get a state? Why won't anyone recognize Somaliland as a state? Why is more asked of Israel than any other country in the world? Of all the above, Palestinians are least deserving of a state because they are ethnically identical to Jordanians and Saudi Arabians, exact same language, exact same culture, exact same religion.

My high school was often outclassed by a rival when it came to languages. We had Italian and French, and I saw many of peers develop an enthusaism + joy for language learning, as well as the related nations, France and Italy. That should be the ideal, not diversity.
