Did you know where the name for the hurricane comes from? Hun Raq'An, literally "1 leg" in K'iché, a Maya language from Guatemala. The name of a god associated with the sky, time and the creation of the world. Possibly derived from the older Mesoamerican deity known as K'awiil.

So they could start shaping the Earth from that creature's huge body. But in order to lure the caiman's attention to the surface so it could be captured by Quetzalcoatl, Tezcatlipoca sacrificed his own foot. 𝙃𝙐𝙉 𝙍𝘼𝙌'𝘼𝙉, his name in K'iché, literally means "one legged" 🧵7

GM 🐊 This is Cipactli, the Primordial Crocodile from traditional Nahua cosmology. Adorned w/ extra mouths on her limbs, she prevented the gods from creating anything over the primordial waters' surface, until her capture - when Tezcatlipoca sacrificed his foot as bait.
