Anyone that knows voting behaviour of Nigerians will know that: 1. Most Atiku voters of 2023 will rather vote for APC if Atiku is not on ballot in 2027 than PO. 2. Most PO voters of 2023 will rather vote for anyone but APC in 2027 if PO is not on ballot. If Atiku and PO are not on same ticket, their supporters will vote differently. APC is the second choice of Atiku voters. PO voters will rather vote PDP. Or not vote all. Anyone but APC even for second choice.
Akin Olaoye@akintollgate

In politics, adding Atiku’s 6.9m + Obi’s 6.1m from 2023, does not equal to 13m votes in 2027. The arithmetic is very different!

Today my heart is filled with deep joy as we announce the Expression of Interest for the National Digital Economy Research Clusters— a ₦12 billion research funding scheme designed to place ideas, evidence, and research at the centre of Nigeria’s digital transformation. This programme is being funded under Project BRIDGE, our initiative to deploy 90,000km of fibre optic backbone infrastructure across Nigeria to expand connectivity and enable a modern digital economy. As we deepen our digital infrastructure coverage , thoughtful evidence based approaches are required to be deployed in society to ensure everyone benefits from this significant investment. Too often, the ideas shaping digital policy come predominantly from markets and political cycles rather than from research, evidence, and long-term thinking. A quote that captures this sentiment comes to mind: “The state of a society is a reflection of the ideas that dominate it — when good ideas spread, nations prosper; when bad ideas prevail, nations decay.” Through this programme, Nigeria will establish six national research clusters across key pillars of the digital economy: • Connectivity, Access, and Meaningful Use • Digital Public Infrastructure and Digital Government • Digital Skills, Education, and Human Capital • Digital Economy, Jobs, and Livelihoods • Trust, Safety, Consumer Protection, and Online Harms • Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies These research clusters will be led by up to 36 distinguished professors, from 36 Nigerian universities working with international academic partners. Across the clusters, over 200 researchers, including Postdoctoral Fellows and PhD candidates will generate rigorous, policy-relevant research to guide Nigeria’s digital economy for years to come. For me, the goal goes beyond research output. We are looking for better policies that lead to stronger institutions and a more prosperous society. Despite the scale of the other initiatives we are delivering at the Ministry, this is one of the most meaningful to me personally, because it plants seeds that will grow long after any one administration. If you are part of an academic or research institution committed to producing rigorous, policy-relevant research, you can review the Terms of Reference (TOR) in the EOI we are releasing today here - b.link/EOI-NDULRC and submit proposals to lead and participate in these national research clusters. Because nations that lead the future are not simply those that deploy infrastructure — they are the ones that cultivate ideas. In the coming week, we will host a press conference to further elaborate on this announcement. I encourage Vice-Chancellors of universities across Nigeria to look out for detailed information and engagement opportunities. #NigerianExcellence

People already clocked you. Only your new skits will change people's opinion about you. Try to be unbiased and less tribal. Tackle issues from all over the country. Don't eulogize your people and demonic others. Criticize everybody accordingly. No region is immune to the rot in our country.

No na. Currently, Aba power has the highest kwh price in Nigeria and it's not close to this. Band A cost for EKDC is ~N209. Estates paying higher amounts may be generating alternative power. As per those complaining about different bands and how it should be abolished, the problem is not with the distribution companies or government because if they abolish bands, it then means everyone will pay band A cost and we all know how that goes. I've seen people protesting to remove them from band A because the cost was too much for them. If Nigerians want constant electricity as it is elsewhere, subsidy has to go. And this is where I always like using the same Ghana that we tend to admire their constant power to draw comparisons. We know the problem as well the solution and as he asked, are we ready for it?
Cross˚@Elkrosmediahub

Jeff, you don’t see that the band thing is sheer extortion? Even in the article you shared, it says 35cents per kilowatt. That’s about N340/KW. A typical estate on the island pays way more than that for electricity that has to still be backed with generators. That is my point!

‼️My bro... Whatever narrative you're driving at is far from what she meant... Out of every 100 Nigerian youths, you will find 80% or more are into yahoo... And it has given Nigerian youths a bad name/reputation and it's affecting other legit working youths looking to expand their reach beyond Nigerian borders. Hence why most foreign government bodies always apply extra scrutiny whenever Nigerian citizens are involved. Understand the context before driving it to a different narrative.
Biggest Mack@Big_Mck

The day @avrilamaka made this tweet, I saved it to react at the appropriate time. Now let me address it. Yahoo boys have not finished Nigeria. As a matter of fact, there is no amount of $$ Nigerian yahoo boys can realistically ‘steal’ that will make them feature in the world’s top 10 fraud rings. These Oyibos just don't want their wealth transfered to Africa. Ironically, the same wealth they steal from Africa. So they would find any excuse to discourage sending your money to Nigeria. Even the so-called “yahoo yahoo” is their creation. They intentionally enable yahoo boys to ‘pick’ a few million dollars so they can use the pretext of “Nigerians are fraudsters” to take the whole continent off global financial systems. They did it with PayPal. You really think yahoo boys can successfully steal from Western fiancial institutions if the entire scheme is not state-sanctioned? That's part of their broader tactics of “give the dog a bad name and hang it.” Every day you wake up, you have to spend 2 hours to fear Oyibo before going about your day. The west is pure evil.

I have taken time to reflect before speaking on the ongoing conversations linking my name to the Ochanya matter. I strongly condemn all forms of sexual abuse and gender-based violence. No individual, especially a child, should ever be subjected to such harm, and I stand firmly for accountability, truth, and justice in all such cases. I have seen many things being said about me online, some of which are not accurate or do not fully reflect what actually happened at the time. I understand the emotions surrounding this matter, but I also believe it is important that narratives are not built on assumptions or incomplete information. For clarity, in 2013, I was a student in boarding school in SS2 and had only just gone on vacation after my mock examinations. At the time, I was about 12 years old and was not present at the location where these events are being alleged to have occurred. This has been established in the course of legal processes. I did not witness any act of abuse as has been suggested in some narratives, and this position has also been reflected in the legal proceedings connected to this matter. At the time of these events, I was not in a position of authority or control over the situation. Where I had concerns, I did not ignore them, but the way events unfolded afterward was not within my control. All relevant information and documentation supporting my position exist within the appropriate legal channels and can be made available where properly required by lawful authorities. I recognise that people are asking questions, and I understand why. However, I respectfully ask that conclusions are not drawn without a full and fair understanding of the facts. This experience has taken a significant toll on my mental and overall well-being, and I have had to seek medical and professional support during this period. I remain firm in my truth. I would never witness anything of this nature and remain silent. I understand deeply the importance of speaking up for what is right. This is a sensitive matter that has already gone through legal processes, and I will not be making statements that could misrepresent that process or reopen wounds for those directly affected. I ask for fairness, restraint, and compassion in how this conversation continues. Thank you.

CAN has taken a step further in their battle for religious balance in Surulere. They have formally written to the governor and requested for additional positions to be allocated to Christians. Check the names of those that signed the CAN letters and see where the problem is... If CAN want more positions in Surulere, they should stop dilution and present people that will put Yorùbá interests first. Could this be the same reason why the governor allegedly refused to respond to the letter? Fingers are pointing towards Hon Lanre Smart former chief of staff to speaker Gbaja and current senior aide to Gbaja, most powerful apc man in surulere as the one allegedly outsmarting them. If true, Is Lanre Smart doing this to save the Yorùbá heritage in Surulere? This is not looking healthy for Surulere at all. Let all religious, traditional and political stakeholders get involved in this matter before it gets out of hands!

The G Worldwide and Kiss Daniel issue is a big lesson in Nigerian entertainment law. Kiss Daniel signed a contract with G Worldwide. The label claimed rights over his stage name. When he wanted to leave, he could not keep using “Kiss Daniel” freely. He had to change his name to Kizz Daniel. Not because he wanted to, but because of legal rights tied to his brand name. In entertainment, your name is not just a name. It can be owned, controlled, or restricted by contracts and trademarks. Simple lesson for my music artists and Creatives; Read your contracts well. Have your Lawyer Review it for you, Register your name. Protect your brand early. Your name is your identity. Do not lose it.

They did the same with the power plant in Abia. Meanwhile, Ogun State has been running its own independent power plant built under Dapo Abiodun since January. We are just waiting for President Tinubu to commission it with the airport and other massive projects. Every time we talk about investments, they dismiss it. Dapo Abiodun grew Ogun State’s economy from N3 trillion to N19 trillion. They don’t find that worthy of note. We can’t defeat the agenda because our people support it.
