Willy Gnonto and Nicolo Zaniolo are both a part of the same agency (Vigo Global) and are the only 2 players belonging to the group who have a market value of over £1.5m. In January of this year, after Roma failed to accept Zaniolo’s request of a new €4.5m per-season contract (which would have also included a payment to his agency for signing the deal), Zaniolo submitted a transfer request at the club and refused to play again for Roma; resulting in the Italian club banning the player from their stadium and training ground for the remainder of the season as he attempted to force himself out of the club. Because of his off the field actions, which seem extremely similar to the incidents that have unfolded with Gnonto this week, Zaniolo was eventually sold to Galatasaray as the Turkish transfer window was the only one open at the time, however his agency would have still received a slice of the €15m transfer fee. Hopefully Gnonto doesn’t have the same outcome, however it does seem that the young Italian’s future is perhaps being dictated from his advisors, rather than the 19 year old himself. #LUFC

Borussia Monchengladbach are in discussions with Leeds over the loan signing of Max Wöber. Despite signing for the club in January, like many of Leeds’ departures this transfer window, the Austrian has a loan clause in his contract meaning Leeds must automatically accept all loan offers where another club can pay 100% of the player’s wages because of Leeds’ relegation.
