@NateSilver538 Doesn’t this naturally happen as it routes all people down one path, which makes that path’s eta longer and therefore starts routing the next group of people down a different path until that eta gets worse, so on and so forth

On certain busy traffic routes (e.g. JFK to/from Midown Manhattan) the equilibrium is basically that all routes are ~equally bad, so Waze etc. should deliberately insert some randomization to create a proper mixed strategy.

The news of Amazon slashing their private label clothing brands is not a surprise to me. Many are saying it's due to the antitrust stuff but in reality it's because Amazon has realized they can make way more money if they pull out and focus on ads for 3P sellers.

With Amazon exiting the private label business, this means big thing: Third party sellers are going to experience an unprecedented growth rate with their brands. With Amazon out of the way, your only real worry is black hat sellers which are also shrinking on the platform.

I don't know magic people think selection on observables can do. You can't just throw 50 variables and say "match on this and make all the selection bias go away". This is where you have to have DAG-like maps guiding you because otherwise it's just garbage in, garbage out.

This paper by Gordon, et al. finding selection on observables methods do poorly replicating 15 large RCTs at Facebook is to me less an indictment of selection on observables than it is an indictment on using it without a DAG. kellogg.northwestern.edu/faculty/gordon…

I’m 53 years old and I’ve watched the #browns lose hundreds of times. I’ve seen it all. But for some reason, last night’s loss hit me really hard. They just needed one f’ing first down to ice the game and they couldn’t get it. Just really sucks
