@iamemmettsmith You can’t say injuries cause JQ was out when he signed him bad decisions is his fault but don’t get me wrong I want pope to work as much as anyone but he can’t take chances like that

No one was saying shit in Mark Popes first season at Kentucky. They unexpectedly went to the Sweet 16 with an average team w/ season ending injuries. This past season he had even more season ending injuries & made the tournament when everyone had counted them out. Sit down , take a deep breath & be patient. #BBN

We are now into the first full week of May and Kentucky’s roster for 2026-2027 still needs some work. +There is a NEED for a backup 5-man. +Adding another shooter would sure be nice. +Then, there is room for the elusive STAR…but I’m not sure there is a STAR available.

Would you all rather Mark Pope work out or him fail and potentially get a Billy Donovan or Jai Lucas at head coach?

FWIW, I think Marcio Santos would be a good addition for Kentucky as a big man piece. He plays in the Euro Super League (better than college basketball) and is productive and older. He is solid Kentucky still needs (at least) one more really good player. I hope they find him

@SweetTalkingT Well considered Bill Self was on the verge of retirement and you all knew who you your coach is going to be, I'd say him waiting for Self's decision impacted the delay.

@newyorkgrooovee But in year 2 his starting center was already hurt why take a chance like that?

Unpopular Opinion: Mark Pope is receiving an unfair level of criticism & a majority of Kentucky’s issues have nothing to do with Pope. In year 1 his entire backcourt dealt with injuries. Despite that he still beat 8 top-15 teams & made the Sweet 16. In Year 2 he lost his starting center & starting point guard to season ending injuries. Still, Pope went 7-3 in games decided by 2 possessions or fewer & beat 5 top-25 teams. The only fair criticism should be his inability to land premier players in the portal this offseason. However, there is a different standard & expectation at Kentucky that Pope has yet to meet. I still would give him 2 more years & if he falls short of a Final Four then it’s fair to move on.

All of our concerns about Mark Pope two years ago were true. Can’t recruit and can’t handle the pressure of being the head coach at Kentucky. At least with Cal we could have fun and excitement in the offseason

We received gifts for our Kentucky Basketball Museum in the shop today that I could never say the appropriate ‘Thank You’ for what we are trying to do here. This is @OtegaOweh ‘s Warmup from the NCAA Tournament and the season along with his Nameplate from the Champions Classic in the Garden. The whole point of our museum is to never sell a thing, to build and create an amazing tribute to what we all love and adore in the #BBN . Having these items from Oweh, easily an ALL TIme Kentucky Favorite and legend with beautiful game winners across his career..,it’s beyond special, I cannot thank G and Zeke enough and can promise it will remain here as a testament to his kindness and Oweh’s career for as long as we exist!! It will be honored and treasured!!

A Kentucky ‘fan’ posted on TikTok that Tyran Stokes is “a CAT and it is happening,” and Tyran responded in the comments: “Y’all actually make me laugh. Y’all realize I’m an 18 year old tryna make the biggest decision of my life while the whole world is basically rushing me, decisions like this take time and there’s lots of things to factor in other than money 🤦🏽‍♂️” #BBN

Hurley: "I'm recruiting offensive players that are tough, that will be willing to defend for you. I'm no longer going off defensive, hard-playing guys that we're going to have to try to teach them to play great offense." Auriemma: "That's an impossible teach. I've tried it."
Hoop Herald@TheHoopHerald

Dan Hurley and Geno Auriemma, arguably the best coaches in the college sport, talk about recruiting offensive talent over heart and hustle guys “If you have enough players that are going to score 1,000 points, you are going to win a lot of games”

Looks like Kentucky earns about $8 million more on Basketball ticket sales than any other school and is one of only 9 schools to earn more from Basketball than Football (tickets only)

I have recieved word that a potential announcement regarding what is to change the program forever maybe could occur at any moment today. The source is relatively decent and has been wrong only a handful of times. Be on the lookout, BBN.

The fouls and free throw attempts are very lopsided but the reality is Kentucky is a very grabby, handsy team and has been all year. They commit a lot of dumb fouls.
