These tokens are passed on the read request to guarantee the returned data is at least as fresh as the version associated with the token, bypassing the cache if necessary. - We introduced a load-shedding mechanism that dynamically diverts a portion of incoming traffic to a dummy target group when the service detects overload, preventing a MongoDB death loop and enabling the service to degrade gracefully. This architecture gives us the scalability to handle the crypto market's massive, unpredictable peaks and the resilience to be a service that Coinbase can build on with trust.
