Solely looking at this Mainoo and Anderson is a horrible partnership (one game sample) — Anderson having to sacrifice a lot of his game to compliment the former. Anderson | Rice works so well because they can switch roles seamlessly. This is Anderson having to do most of the work

I liked what I saw from that pivot of Mainoo and Anderson. It’s definitely something that can work. They literally were the only two players that even looked like footballers today They were progressing ball into the forwards and none of them could even control a ball

@Emanxamilius_ That midfield will not be balanced at all. Bruno pushes high, Anderson is more box-to-box, and Mainoo isn’t a pure defensive 6. Without a proper holding midfielder the team would be exposed in transitions.
