@AmandaGiranda @Helen_Whately And you should very well know they have to provide evidence of their condition. Not just a self diagnosis. You pipe down and back in your box spouting sxxt.

Blue badges for ADHD…how can this be right? Like the benefits system - opening up support for mental illness or neurological conditions is being abused and exploited.

The Conservatives can only come back by contesting elections. Under Kemi Badenoch, we’re fighting Makerfield. The odds are stacked against us, but people there deserve a real choice, not to be used as Andy Burnham’s stepping stone to Downing Street.

@SportingNest @Helen_Whately She needs to work a week in a mental unit although She probably would not last 2 hours. Failing that try a weeks worth of meds for those in the community. She will be able to firm a better opinion then.

@AmandaGiranda @Helen_Whately No help is given to self diagnosing. Medical evidence and lots of it is needed. Another one spouting rubbish.

@Helen_Whately On top of this abuse those self diagnosing ADHD can claim packages from Access to Work in excess of £10k-all funded by taxpayers-and gives them the exoneration they’re so desperate to get for their disruptive behaviour. It’s exhausting managing this. I wrote to you abt it last yr

Meet Dr Keith Wolverton, a genial British GP working in urgent care. During a consultation at a walk-in centre in Staffordshire, he asked a Muslim woman to remove her niqab because he had difficulty hearing her explain her young daughter’s symptoms. He cited issues with her English and the need to see her mouth movements for clear communication and proper diagnosis. She initially refused on religious grounds but eventually complied. After her daughter received treatment and recovered, the thankless woman filed a complained that she felt “victimised and racially discriminated against.” CONSEQUENCES: A Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service hearing found the doctor guilty of misconduct. He was initially suspended for 9 months. In 2026, Dr Wolverton was struck off the medical register (effectively sacked/banned from practising). All because he was concerned about the health of a child.

@Helen_Whately Funny how most blue badge holders drive high performance cars also, that’s all I ever see in disabled bays these days, the system is a joke.

@Helen_Whately I don't want to be too harsh over mental health, as I know we are all different. But I do think its fair to at least have a debate on all this. I know with my mobility issues now in older age, I would be turned down simple for being too honest. The whole system is a mess.

Saw a horrible post this morning from a not too attractive person mocking Nigel Farage, 62, for having, heaven forfend, wrinkles. This person alleged it was because he's an alcoholic. Now let me tell you something as someone who's also in her 60s. Now I don't want to shock you. Step away if this is too traumatic for you. People in their 60s have wrinkles and lines on their faces. It's called aging. If you're lucky enough to age, you'll get them too. And anybody who hasn't is having chemicals put into their faces or is using filters on the photos. Not everyone wants to have an expressionless and immoveable face. Some people prefer to spend their money on other things. Like holidays. Or cars. Or furniture. And be able to smile or grimace without looking weird. And the sooner people realise wrinkles are normal, the better.

@GuidoFawkes Bring back the YTS schemes but with real training not for greedy companies to profit from! Make it only for British kids not foreigners! I learnt three skills on mine Bricklaying Carpentry Painting and decorating £25 a week was too low but it taught me how to look after cash!

@Universal1976 @Helen_Whately In Your opinion. I will put my faith in the medical professionals who give such diagnosis with more understanding. Not ppl on x. A bad back is the easier route to go down if that's the game.

Alarm clock Britain is sick of paying out for Benefits Street. Why bother working when you can get £30,000 or even £60,000 on benefits - untaxed. So what's the Government doing about it? Nothing.

@NotFarLeftAtAll Yes. She speaks Her mind even on Her own government. Loses the whip. More politicians should be like Her. She was more vibrant 35 years ago and health plays a part but generally seems OK.

@tigerax @_EleanorJackson What makes Reform appealing is that these former Tory members are now acknowledging past failures and shifting to a tougher stance on immigration. Their actual policies have far surpassed those of the old Conservative Party—freezing non-essential immigration, halting ship voyages

The Makerfield by‑election keeps getting more interesting! 👀 With new candidates entering the race, this is no longer just a straightforward contest — and the outcome could have implications well beyond one seat. I'm backing Reform all the way. What do you think? @reformparty_uk
