@nextdimensiona1 these type of tricks are only cool when you build up to them and they serve a purpose, i feel like a lot of newer djs learn them to use as a crutch/last resort which just sounds messy even if its done perfectly

like I’m really adamant on not saying something is “right” or “wrong” when teaching because it’s an art form so I try to encourage different approaches but it gets to a point… they really just don’t need to be attempting giant bpm jumps this frequently lolll

i teach 4 beginner dj workshops a month and one of the top questions is “how do I mix 2 tracks with drastically different bpms?” i always try to show transition tricks or an echo out but what I rly need to double down on is track selection that flows well before teaching tricks..
