First-rate testimony from @SecRubio today! One of his most powerful moments was our discussion about how friendly nations like even South Korea are unfairly targeting American companies and American citizens.

My AFPI colleague Piero Tozzi and I had a great meeting this week with South Korean People Power Party (PPP) Chairman Dong-hyeok Jang (second from right) and Supreme Council Member Minsoo Kimto discuss US-South Korea relations.

🚨 South Korea is on the verge of losing our country, and they are running out of time.
South Koreans should all be burning with anger right now.
But oddly enough, a lot of people just leave comments like “Thank you” to YouTubers.
I barely feel any real determination to protect South Korea’s freedom, no intense anger, and no fighting spirit in the comments.
Is it just me who feels this?

@GordonGChang “Today’s Korean conservatives are much like the RINOs of the past in the United States. The conservative party as a whole has turned into a RINO entity, deceiving the people.”

From a friend in Korea, with more about the People Power Party:
“l am writing to share a development inside South Korea’s political landscape.
On February 9, senior People Power Party (PPP) official Min-su Kim delivered statements in a live broadcast that made the party’s current direction unmistakable. The PPP leadership has stepped away from President Yoon’s December 3 martial law decision and has begun treating the citizens who supported that decision as a problem to be controlled, not as participants in a constitutional cause.
Both Min-su Kim and party leader Dong-hyuk Jang were elected with overwhelming backing from pro-Yoon citizens after pledging publicly that they would ‘stand with Yoon Again.’ After securing their positions, they abandoned those pledges, apologized for martial law, and turned against the very people who helped elect them.
Below is a direct summary of the February 9 broadcast.
I. Statements by Min-su Kim
1. ‘Follow the party strategy’ – suppression of independent civic action
Kim repeatedly told supporters to stop acting on their own and to follow the party’s line.
He portrayed a year of pro-Yoon citizen activism as something the party must restrain.
2. ‘Our spokespersons did nothing wrong’ – defense of the leadership’s own narrative
Kim instructed supporters not to criticize party spokespersons.
Yet those spokespersons publicly stated:
‘Chairman Jang has never supported martial law, insurrection, election-fraud claims, or the Yoon Again movement.’
This statement places martial law, election-fraud claims, and the Yoon Again movement in the same category and marks them all as unacceptable. The implication is direct: supporters of Yoon’s martial law are being placed under an ‘insurrection’ label, and the citizens who defended President Yoon are being treated as if they aligned with a criminal act.
3. ‘Trust the leadership to the end’ – removal of space for internal disagreement
Kim demanded unquestioning loyalty to the party leadership.
He dismissed any criticism or scrutiny as harmful.
4. Young supporters presented as followers, not independent citizens
Kim described young pro-Yoon activists as people who must ‘follow the party’s direction,’ not as citizens with their own judgment or political agency.
5. ‘Election fraud claims have no evidence’ – denial of an issue President Yoon himself raised
Kim rejected all concerns regarding election integrity.
This was not a policy difference; it was a rejection of President Yoon’s stance.”
