NMSU announced a ~$18M project for a new press box and executive suite at Aggie Memorial Stadium, which will be funded by the New Mexican government. Construction will begin after the 2026 season for a completion date before the 2027 season. More: lcsun-news.com/story/sports/c…

game over .. season over .. a very painful one comes to a close; the department/program will need to do some SERIOUS recalibration to get New Mexico State basketball back on track. Let's not sugar coat it. This was one of the worst seasons we've had it a LONG time.

Kentucky's Seth McGowan led all running backs in the vertical jump (42.5 inches) and broad jump (10-foot-11) at the NFL Combine. Arkansas' Mike Washington Jr. was second among all running backs in the vertical jump (39 inches) and broad jump (10-foot-8). What is interesting, however, is that both were teammates at @NMStateFootball in 2024.

NMSU held a 14-point lead in the first half, and a 10-point lead 4 times in the 2nd half. Then the Aggies blew it. Not only is it a crushing defeat to rival UTEP, it makes the possibility of missing the CUSA Tournament even more real. So, what now? lcsun-news.com/story/sports/c…

Very difficult season thus far. But I also remember (some 40 years ago) that Neil McCarthy had 3 bad-record seasons to start (after taking the job with previous terrible Aggie seasons under Weldon Drew). Later he had great seasons before returning the Aggis to the dump. Patience.

This season continues to get worse. I don't remember the last time we lost 3 home games consecutively. Very poor.

@Nick_Coppola__ The Teddy Allen team had rough moments, but they were never near .500; they rebounded to get a first round NCAA Tournament win. This team will be lucky to get a CUSA Tournament win at this pace.

@Nick_Coppola__ I played; understand - you gotta put the extra work in before the games. Your preparation is for the upcoming game; practice like a DAWG on your own time. Running those drills that make you confident you'll make every shot when it's needed.

Elijah Elliott decided to spend some extra time on the court after NMSU’s loss to FIU today. He’s working on the exact shot he missed that would’ve given the Aggies a late 81-80 lead in the final seconds.

I get yall are upset. The NMSU basketball team isn’t doing great right now. In covering them, I can take criticism in stride. I’m a big boy. There’s a line though. I don’t know how yall are getting my phone number and leaving hate texts and voicemails, but that’s completely unacceptable. Who is even giving yall my number? And given that's there's no investment by the players in the program, why should I watch them play and develop, when they're gone next year.

Aggies are playing right now. Have the time and ability to watch. But it says a lot that I don't have any motivation to watch them play. Quite the disappointing season to me.
