It seems as though it was Dallas or no one for Miami. It is possible the Dolphins would have taken Caleb Downs, but from the sound of it, they were pretty committed to taking a tackle. Small price to pay for Downs, but wonder if they even had to make the move.

The consensus board debate had more staying power than I anticipated. NFL teams should not care about the consensus board. They should do their own evaluations, gather their own information and form their own opinions; just like those in media. However, the consensus board is a great resource for fans to use as a reference point. It is a talking point and entertainment similar to mock drafts and other draft content. Sports are meant to be fun and the hand-wringing about those products by those in the NFL never made sense to me. The media and the NFL need each other.

For my friends in the NFL Draft community, I’d encourage you to put Kentucky TE Willie Rodriguez on your radar this season, especially after the run we saw at the position on Day 2.

It seems NIL depleting the NFL Draft pool is going to be an annual narrative. But, wouldn’t the majority of those who went back to school for NIL last year be in this year’s draft with more development…? If you’re good enough to enter the league after your third year, you’re probably not staying five years anyway.

Reflecting back on last night, I still can't believe how early and quickly that tight end run happened. The league made a statement about the value of having an accomplished blocker in that role. A portion of the proceeds should be gifted to Jackson Hawes.
