@danluu Setting up tracing on a new project is pretty trivial tho. I did it last month on a toy personal projects where i have a bunch of services talk to each other, and just had to pip install a bunch of preconfigured libraries for http and db layers!

@danluu I don't get the effort/cost argument either. At work, sure, it took a large coordinated effort and multiple years to put it in place, because we're talking bolting tracing on 1000s of services that weren't necessarily engineered for it.

I’ve stopped being stupid and decided it was time for safety equipment. Inhaled far too much dust while sanding at the weekend. It’s not happening again. Oh and disposable gloves were acquired so no more icky fingers after expanding foam adventures.
