@jeff_gluck idea...10 race playoff (12 or 16 win and in drivers). 1st race is one race Wild Card elimination losing the bottom drivers (other sports have play-on/WC). Then you've got 3 rounds of 3 races. So final 4 is a 3 race playoff to crown champ.
