@IrishBearsShow Nah, dunking on Illinois politicians is fine but the Bears have done absolutely nothing to convince people that moving out of Chicago benefits the tax payer in any way. They’ve had a century to build a stadium and they’ve never done it.

The Bears can’t be blamed for the team moving. Just the last few hours shows how inept some of those politicians are. You had months, and waited for the last day and came to no conclusion.

I just don’t think that’s true of a site in Hammond which will not be an attractive venue for big name acts. Why should Tax Payers subsidize a competing venue?

So weird that the state of Illinois refuses to let the #Bears build a stadium in Illinois. The #Bears new stadium will only help Illinois… Local businesses will flourish, million dollar events like concerts, drafts, final fours, & super bowls all in Illinois, more jobs created, transportation and roads improved. Just don’t get why it can’t be done. Frustrating as hell and Indiana is capitalizing on Illinois mistakes.

@Real_Landlord7 @estevenj @TheHultmanBeat If they are asking for public funds either in infrastructure or tax breaks it *IS* publicly funded. Taylor Swift is not doing three days of concerts in Hammond, she will in Arlington Heights…. The Bears want the profits from that they can pay for it.

@j_regnier @estevenj @TheHultmanBeat Because it is not a publicly funded stadium that's why. This is what they want: 1) Property tax certainty 2) Public infrastructure funding The Bears have repeatedly stated that they will privately fund the stadium construction itself (over $2 billion).
