They said photography wasn’t art. They said cinema wasn’t art. They said video games weren’t art. Now they say AI arts/digital art isn’t art. I’ve spent over a decade with my studio team turning millions of data points into living, breathing artwork experiences ethically — at MoMA, at the Guggenheim, at the Venice Biennale. Not because a machine told me what to create, but because I had a vision that no traditional tool could realize. Denying all AI technologies as an artistic medium doesn’t protect art. It limits it. The artists who embrace new tools don’t replace the old masters — they join them. Art is not defined by the brush. It’s defined by the intention, the emotion, and the courage to see the world differently.

I would gladly pay for Megascans as the quality, the Bridge, plugin etc is amazing.
But, paying FAB on this awful website is a no from me.
I wish quixel would somehow "bridge" this gap.

ps. I can only have 4k from Megascans in FAB. Anyone knows why?

@TimSweeneyEpic @UnrealSensei This might be one of the worst things Epic has done. Tim if another company had done this you'd be up in arms and complaining. Indie devs and small artists arent going to be able to pay for every individual asset they need to test. Dumbest shit you've ever done

@UnrealSensei They'll be free from Fab launch to the end of 2024. Get them for free in that timeframe and you'll own them forever, like free games on the Epic Games Store:

✨ Fab will be launching this October! When Fab goes live, new Megascans will be available exclusively on Fab and will be free for everyone under Fab’s Standard License from launch until the end of 2024.

Epic Games will no longer offer the Quixel Megascans library for free starting next year.
A big reason a lot of people started using Unreal Engine is for the free library. Now each Megascan asset will be a separate payment.
