Some friends of mine volunteer for Reading charity, Chapter2, mentoring boys without dads at home.
I'm walking 100km along the Thames this weekend to raise money for their work.
Please check out the link & consider whether you can support too.
Thanks.

I might be wrong, but if the LTA charge is removed in 2023, and then the LTA abolished in 2024, is there a 1-year window for those with large enough pots to take a LTA excess lump sum with neither charge nor tax? (I invite you to point out - politely - why I'm wrong.) #Budget2023

This seems broadly positive. However, if your tool is using an unsuitable model, eg an MVC model or modelling historical returns directly, you might find yourself building on shaky ground. lnkd.in/dvMVxW6

In my parting @ThePLSA #Viewpoint article, I've written about the Retirement Living Standards. The scale of RLS adoption is unrivalled by any recent pensions industry initiative & I'm proud to have led the charge.Special mentions to @avivaplc & @EValueuk.

Just read this in The Actuary from Gary Smith. I agree that the FCA's deterministic projections "give no indication of the likelihood of outcomes and are not meaningful to a customer’s goals".

Yes! Surely we need to help set consumer expectations in some way! An otherwise “cautious” fund can become very high risk for someone making high withdrawals! #retirement #pensions #incomedrawdown #investmentpathways lnkd.in/eenN9Vr

With IGCs having to assess each pathway investment as to whether it is appropriate or not and having to assess all customer communications as to whether or not it is fit for purpose, it does sound awfully like a sign-off process. hubs.ly/H0rBSvD0

While there are benefits in adopting simple rules of thumb, Bengen's approach has a number of significant shortcomings that anyone advising on drawdown strategies ought to be aware of. hubs.ly/H0qQcwW0 #bengensrule #drawdownstrategy #DrawdownDiaries

If I want to draw a long-term income from my pension pot, surely it’s crucial that someone shows me what sort of size of income could be sustained! Read more here: blog.ev.uk/the-perils-of-… @EValueUK #investmentpathways #retirement #FinancialServices #FinTech #Pensions #Investment

Imagine #FCA investment pathways were in place now. How would retirees who had just selected pathway feel looking at > 30% fall in their pension assets. FCA is right to encourage drawdown users to think abt their objectives and not to default to cash. Much more help needed
