Find something that will give viewers "value". Something amusing, interesting, informative.
Edit in a way where that value is apparent no more than three seconds into the video. (The "hook")
And for the algorithm keep it relatively short unless you think the video can hold attention (average view duration)

The second one is such common advice I'd probably skip right over it. While it can be about three separate things, it's three separate instances of "I already know this".

I'm learning how to make thumbnails and I'm still really new at it.
I will be A/B testing these but which one would you click on?
I moved away from clickbaity thumbnails and I think it helped?

Here's one from a while back where I tried out a puppet pin fuse for DaVinci on (Art poorly drawn by me in Affinity first)

This one didn't get a lot of traction, but it was fun going back in the vod and including moments from the game to give context (I think overall the clip was simply too long)

This one did okay, mostly just scavenging through free stock photo sites to get the different "oils" to pop in with the captions.

🦎Editing Showcase
Captions were done using the perspective look. Very little effort for a slightly more dynamic caption.
Instead of slapping an effect on each "past" clip, I grouped them on the color page to color them all at once. Workflow is very important. And if I decided I didn't like the look it's a few clicks instead of 40.

I'm seriously losing my mind here trying to figure out the best gameplay and facecam layout for edited tiktoks and shorts 😭
I keep second guessing myself thinking the gameplay is too small or my facecam is too low to the bottom of the screen! AH IT'S SO CONFUSING! 😭
