@initialfocus you've got the link in a dm and I can hop on a call to walk through the basics if that'd help!

@chrisatlatenite Interesting times! Happy for all my FCP who will hopefully get lots of new toys soon!
English

@MrAlexTech Thanks! Always some fun energy when you jump on news for a video
English

@PatrickStirling Oh dude your top 10 is screwwwwed haha! Sweet job though man
English

@initialfocus @stalman I followed up that they are still available just a little hidden. Not sure what we can expect long-term though...
English

@stalman @PatrickStirling Yeah did not think that was going to happen so fast. Really thought Apples love for Blackmagic would at least give them support while dropping adobe lol. Guess they really want to take back some market share resolve took.
English

Apple bought MotionVFX.
What does that mean for their DaVinci Resolve plugins?

@PatrickStirling @MKBHD Not to mention that they discontinued purchased packs downloads on the 12th of March.

Breaking: Apple acquires MKBHD......... plugin 😅
motionvfx.com/collections/mk…
(But for real, I'm fascinated by this development as a longtime mVFX plugin user - we can assume this will be good for Final Cut in the next few years, and they'll probably pull support for DaVinci Resolve)

English

@ajayidavid11 @MKBHD support for past products might limp on, but I've heard that the Resolve team at MVFX has been fired.
English

@PatrickStirling @MKBHD Again, I don’t think they will do that. I think they will keep both apps supported. They understand a huge base of DaVinci me lives in the Apple ecosystem, like me. Maybe I’m wishful thinking. However, I still think it’s unlikely to pull support on the main app of your ally
English

@ajayidavid11 @MKBHD cooperation is very different from active support. Resolve plugins are only accessible through a single small link in the footer. There will be no further development of Resolve tools from MVFX.
English

@MKBHD I don’t think they will pull support for DaVinci resolve. Apple and Blackmagic have a long and strong relationship. They literally developed a camera specifically for the Vision Pro, supported ProRes Raw in their cameras and NLE. I don’t see them pulling support personally.
English

@Naaackers been so hard to divine their FCP for so long. hoping this is a meaningful shift! but RIP the best big company for Resolve presets
English

This is the confirmation I was looking for, that Final Cut wasn't going to be left to slowly shrivel and eventually get Thanos snapped.
Maybe 2026 is the year I attempt a switch to Final Cut for real.

@Naaackers I'm pretty out of the loop with what's available now but if not the best I think Panasonic is definitely extremely underrated.
English

@stalman oh the are still technically on the site. Store page links in the footer looks like Resolve packs can still be purchased.
English

@stalman I heard they've already let their Resolve team go. no Resolve products on the site currently
