@timfarron And local occupancy clauses on houses. Villages like Grasmere is virtually ghost villages because of holiday homes, AirBNB and second home owners.

So many pubs in Cumbria & across the country are struggling to find the staff they need to operate at full capacity - with the future of their businesses threatened as a result. We desperately need affordable housing, sensible visa rules and investment in training to solve this.

@natsantonia 😂I actually use them (I've only got about 5). I use them to soften butter in the microwave when baking. Or to gather all my spices together when cooking a curry. I used them to make mini trifles. I also use one to keep my hair ties in which is in my bathroom cabinet.

Brexit has turned the U.K. into precisely the kind of politically unstable, crony-ridden, economically rackety European nation the Brexiters used to mock!

But if someone tells you they’re going to take actions that will crash the economy, and you were warned that crashing the economy will be the consequence if you vote for them, but you vote for them anyway, you only have yourself to blame.

This interview with Liz Truss by @ChrisMasonBBC is quite painful to watch. I can't quite understand why Liz Truss wants to remain as PM (then again I struggle to understand why anyone would put the self through it). I'm not certain after watching that she does.

@BelfastBre Yes, agreed. We also need to look at the human side of this and consider that the PM is a person who has worries, emotions and feelings like us all. Saying that, she is not beyond criticism and a lot of people in society are going to be worse off because of her, so we need to...
