Our new study is out! We looked at anaemia treatments (ESAs) and fracture risk in CKD patients. Prolonged ESA use seems linked to a higher risk of osteoporotic fractures. This suggests we need to optimise treatment to balance benefits vs. risk. Full text: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Our modified self-controlled case series (dx.doi.org/10.1002/pds.70…) did not identify an increased #ischemic_stroke risk with #PPI_monotherapy. However, co-prescription with #antithrombotics was associated with a higher risk. Careful monitoring is needed for them. @ChuiCeline
