@Brook_bailey_98 What a great way to introduce this idea to students. Quality literature is a fantastic resource for all topics and is very engaging. I have not seen this book yet but it would be a great addition to any class.

Another great piece of literature to be used in teaching about #SDG14. By introducing students to sea pollution and enabling them to become global citizens and think sustainability. I will definitely be using this book in my teaching. #UoNTeach #Educ4750

This book ‘The Mess That We Made’ is an excellent resource written by Michelle Lord, that encapsulates global awareness of sea pollution and environmentalism. This book enables students to think critically about the future of our planet. #SDG14 #EDUC4750 #UoNTeach

@Brook_bailey_98 In my classroom of Year 4 students I would ask students to create an environment surrounding the ocean that incorporates sustainable ideas keeping the oceans clean. Students would present on the IWB to peers. What would you do Brook?

Minecraft is a great way to incorporate 21st Century skills into students learning. And what a great way to engage students interactively into big issues such as #SDG14. How would you utilise #minecraft in teaching about Life Below Water? #UoNTeach #Educ4750

@jackmacp133 Thanks Jack. I think so too, outdoor learning in the local environment is a great way to engage students and create significant learning activities.

Primary geography should include significant outdoor learning using the local area. #Place, #space and #sustainability should be blended into geographical place-based curriculum making (Dolan, 2015) It is definitely worth the read! #UoNteach #Educ4750 …dfonline-com.ezproxy.newcastle.edu.au/doi/pdf/10.108…

Dolan (2015) proposes that geographical place-based curriculum is pivotal in promoting #Education for #Sustainability. How do we authentically combine Geography and outdoor learning within our pedagogical practice? …dfonline-com.ezproxy.newcastle.edu.au/doi/full/10.10…

@jackmacp133 @Seesaw Hi Jack, that is great to know that you find Seesaw to be an awesome resource. Quick question: do you find it the way of future teaching and communicating rather than emails etc? #uoNTeach #Educ4750

Bet you're not seeing or hearing on any Australian MSM about Truckies amassed on M1 NSW/QLD border since 31/8/2021. Here's the picture:
