I know that much of the "civilized" world is aware that Gaza's children and their families are being murdered in their tents by the gunfire of Israeli soldiers. I know the "civilized" world has witnessed the systematic slaughter and incineration of families in their shelters for months on end. But what I am certain the "civilized" world fails to grasp is that Gaza’s children have been deprived of an education for nearly three years. I was under the impression that this world championed the education of children as an inviolable right. How do you wake up every morning and take your children or grandchildren to school, yet never utter a word or lift a finger for the children of Gaza? How do you live with this fact? I assumed that even if these "civilized" nations were indifferent to children languishing in makeshift tents for over 870 days, they would find it unconscionable for infants to be preyed upon by rats. I am left questioning the moral framework this "civilized" world was raised on. What finally compels it to action, or what might finally deter it from bankrolling war crimes and crimes against humanity. This photo was taken this morning. The infant remains in critical condition.

The idea that every sovereign country near Israel must cap its conventional weapons, limit its defensive capabilities, restrict missile and fighter jet ranges, and even dismantle its own military industries—just so Israel can "feel safe"—is completely absurd. Which other nation on Earth demands and receives this kind of privilege? This exceptionalism is especially ridiculous coming from a regime with such an inherently aggressive posture and track record in the region.

If you served in a war, or even studied one, you know that trump sending 50,000 of our soldiers and marines to a war zone with 1,000,000 enemy combatants is patently idiotic. We cannot let this ignorant buffoon kill our troops

@Acquired_Savant This is proof that just because you’re a vet, doesn’t mean you have any understanding of large military strategy. Iran isn’t the United States buddy. They are not inflicting 25% casualties. The U.S. didn’t even suffer a 25% casualties in WWI, WWII, or Vietnam.

Imagine for a moment that the island of Manhattan was an industrial hub and the economic backbone of the U.S. instead of the metropolis it is. Now imagine that Russia and China invaded Manhattan with 150,000 troops (increased for size comparison 3:1) and that sitting on the mainland U.S. was our entire armament of missiles, artillery, etc. How many casualties do you think we would inflict on the invaders of Manhattan within the first 48 hours? 10%? Surely more. 25-50% easily. If the U.S. intends to take Kharg island, expect 25% + casualties. That's out of a minimal force of 5,000 or at least 1,250 dead. The 82nd will more likely attempt to secure the mountainous shoreline close to Kharg, their fate is even harder to predict.

yep i pity the fools who read ft/axios/wsj/dnn etc, mouthpieces masquerading as informed papers, making shit up as thy go along cute degrees u got there now go make me some tea
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent@SecScottBessent

By publishing this explicitly false story, the @FT has officially become tabloid trash for market participants. Despite my direct, on-the-record denial of ever having advocated, explored, or espoused the idea that Chancellor-Bank of England statute serving as a prototype for a Treasury-Federal Reserve relationship, FT journalists manufactured a story with the headline, “Scott Bessent praised Bank of England as model for tighter oversight of the Federal Reserve.” These pathetic journalists have clearly fabricated a story to give the impression that both I and the Trump Administration are setting “about restructuring the relationship… at a time when President Donald Trump has launched an unprecedented assault on the world’s most important central bank.” Their mendacious assertion is based on vague statements from unnamed “financial industry executives familiar with the matter.” In short, FT has literally manufactured an entirely fake policy position for me and the Administration. Other than furthering a maliciously false narrative of dysfunction and divisiveness, it baffles the mind as to why they would shred their already diminished journalistic credibility. Over the past 10 years, I have written more than 20,000 words opining on the Federal Reserve decisions, personnel, structure, and modifications. Nowhere have I ever mentioned this ridiculous notion. The Governor’s letters to the Chancellor have proven to be a useless and perfunctory device. There is much to be said about the storied Bank of England, but any recreation of its operating framework on this side of the Atlantic has never been contemplated. The shameful journalists and editors at the FT are shocking in their meretriciousness, lack of standards, and general intellectual libertinism. It is the worst tradition of Fleet Street to manufacture news rather than report on it. They have brought irredeemable shame to their parent organization, Nikkei Inc., with whom I had previously held excellent relations. In 2025, I laid out a comprehensive 6,000+ word review of each and every policy reform that I believe should be adopted by the Federal Reserve. 🇮🇷 Iranian state media has released the last CCTV image of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, captured at 9:40 AM on March 1st, hours before he was killed in the U.S.-Israeli strike. He is reading the Quran. On the table beside him,a framed portrait of Qasem Soleimani, the commander he mourned, the martyr he never stopped honoring. On the shelf behind him, a photo of Imam Khomeini, the revolution's founder, whose legacy he carried for 35 years. Ali Khamenei led Iran through sanctions, wars, assassinations, and relentless pressure. He outlasted every attempt to break the Islamic Republic. He did not bow. He did not bargain away what he believed was sacred.
