#AphasiaCREchatQ3 The intent to provide good communication is evident in most healthcare workers I see. Putting knowledge in to practice or modifying style is more challenging. 'Being able reflect on communication is a stronger predictor of change than years of experience .

Q1 #AphasiaCREchat - as an SLP I feel it is a huge part of my role to advocate for people with communication disability. It is often in hospital & directly after a medical trauma(stroke) that people first experience aphasia - right when they need clear communication the most.

@kebabby_mae @aphasiacre Absolutely. I think Covid has made communication difficult for healthcare workers. Perhaps all patients were at risk before COVID but it was a ''hidden" issue #AphasiaCREchat

#AphasiaCREchat Hi all, apologies I am late to the chat. I work on a neuro rehabilitation ward here in Melbourne. I have been completing a project with @kebabby_mae and @DrRobOH looking to engage nurses and healthcare staff in identifying a solution to communication access!

#AphasiaCREchat Q1 Supporting healthcare communication is central to all of my clinical interactions. Aphasia makes this more challenging and time consuming but to see a change in body language when communication happens reinforces the importance of this.
