We heard loud and clear from homeless shelters and affordable housing providers around the city the best route to move forward was immediate cash assistance to help neighbors stay in their homes—not blunt measures that put people greater into debt.

Good riddance.

Congrats to our 40 new MPD Community Service Officers and cadets. Choosing to serve at this pivotal moment for our city takes real courage and commitment. We’re stronger because of neighbors who step up for one another— thank you for answering the call.

America, this is your moment. Take back the flag. Reclaim patriotism. Here in Minneapolis — and across this nation — it doesn’t belong to one party or one voice. It belongs to all of us.

As Ramadan begins, alongside Lunar New Year and Fat Tuesday, we’re reminded how diverse our city is. However you’re marking the day, I hope it’s filled with love. MPLS has been through a lot — and moments like this remind us what matters most: community and care for each other.

Great to join Mayor Frey to meet with local business owners today. So many Minnesota small businesses have been hurt by the ICE surge. But now the ICE is (literally) melting, and it's time to get out and show them our support statewide

Today I had a meaningful conversation with @NYCMayor about the reality local governments are facing. When federal government targets immigrant communities, it’s cities that feel it first — and cities that step up. We’re building a coalition of mayors ready to lead.

In addition to tearing families apart and terrorizing our neighborhoods, this massive ICE presence has also been horrible for Minneapolis business. We need ICE to leave so our economy can get reignited.

Spent time at 24 Mall connecting with neighbors and hearing what people need right now. The city is here to help with mental health support, food, housing and rental assistance, legal help, and small business support. We’re showing up and taking action.

Really grateful to everyone who came out last night for a thoughtful conversation about what’s happening in Minnesota. Moments like this remind me why I’m so proud to be part of this community. We will keep showing up for our neighbors. Thanks to @CNN for hosting.

Minneapolis is a shining example of a city that stands up for America.

The job of our police is to keep people safe, not enforce fed immigration laws. I want them preventing homicides, not hunting down a working dad who contributes to MPLS & is from Ecuador. It’s similar to the policy your guy Rudy had in NYC. Everyone should feel safe calling 911.

Minneapolis: A city that loves all our neighbors, shows its resilience through our many accolades and activities, and isn’t afraid to speak up.

Today, we lost another Minneapolis neighbor after multiple ICE agents pummeled him and shot him to death. How many more people need to die or get shot before this ends? President Trump, I am calling on you to put the American people and this American city first & get ICE out.

I spent time at Karmel Mall this week, and many of the small businesses that are usually bustling were closed. Immigrant-owned businesses are hurting right now — and they need our support and more than ever. Go shop!

It’s -10 degrees and thousands still showed up strong in Minneapolis. That’s who we are.
