Two salutes though for the season. Otega Oweh was great the vast majority of the year and had one of the best two season performances in UK history Denzel Aberdeen had a rough start but beginning with SEC play I thought he was excellent and honestly held the team together often

This team was ultimately poorly constructed with pieces that didn’t really fit Pope’s system. And honestly I don’t think Pope did a great job with the group he had. Pope never found a consistent style of play and went through too many stretches where he was out coached

I just heard that Mitch Barnhart is retiring. I wanted to say even though Mitch and I didn’t always see eye to eye he did a good job and I wish he and Connie well in retirement.

That technical foul on Mo Dioubate is the worst technical foul that I've EVER seen. EVER. Doug Shows should never be allowed to officiate another game after that. Horrendous.

Two road games for Kentucky this week, both of which arguably should have been losses But Kentucky fought back from 16 down in both games and won. Could be season defining week

I think you add the Gtown game to get a bigger and more accurate sample size. I'm baffled how this team fails to respond to physical play. They were built for that sort of game. I think 3pt shooting is as much a failure of this year's offense to actually perform. Where is Pope's offense? This shit ain't it. It's Cal Ball 2025. There are so few "good looks" from 3 I'm really flabbergasted. I've seen more airballs from 3 at this point in the season than I can ever recall. Otega is a casualty of the lack of Pope's offense. he's not elite at scoring against a prepared defender. His elite skill is "shooting the gaps" at the right moment. Same as his defensive elite skill. He's a master of opportunity and this offense isn't creating any. I'm baffled. Pope is the same coach who beat more top 15 teams than any coach in history. He didn't forget how to coach. I'm starting to suspect there are locker room issues. It may be a byproduct of well paid players. It's a new era. We're all adjusting in real time

Immediate concerns (re: Kentucky) -Athleticism and physicality (seemingly) were at a premium when constructing this roster...yet athleticism and physicality have been glaring issues versus Louisville & Michigan State. -Shooting. You are what you shoot and this team is shooting 31.9% from 3 through five games. -Two of your three returning pieces (Otega Oweh and Brandon Garrison) have not only not improved, but appear to have taken steps BACK (at least so far). Oweh, the SEC Preseason POY, is 8-25 with 6 turnovers versus Louisville & Michigan State. There are some more abstract concerns: chemistry, offensive identity, etc...but those three listed above are more easily seen and/or quantifiable. It is November 18th and it is "just two games." However, the data points haven't been pretty so far. There is reason for concern in the moment.

it's crazy to me how some people are talking like UK has a horrible team....lol. Leave it to the masses to over react to a less than perfect performance. UK played ok. not to the best of their ability, but they would have beaten 95% of teams with that performance. Credit UofL for playing closer to their peak (they weren't peak, but they were closer to it)

I genuinely @tom_hart and @CoachJimmyDykes are the best duo to call most UK games They both are good announcers but they also both really know UK’s team and how they want to play
