@burkov Many have been saying this, including me. I find it funny though how you said people were idiots for using Codex before:

BURKOV@burkov
Codex on the $20/month Plus plan lasts for ~1.5 days of work and then blocks you for 3 days. And you have to be a complete idiot to pay for the $200/month Pro plan for Codex instead of the $100/month Max plan for Claude Opus.

I've been using Opus 4.6 and GPT-5.4 one after another (that is, an Opus session then a GPT session then Opus again, and so on) on the same projects for a couple of weeks now, and GPT-5.4 (High) has been consistently more successful.
The difference is even more noticeable in debugging tasks, where Claude can spend up to 30 minutes digging without delivering any result, while GPT finishes with the right fix most of the time.
The only problem with GPT is its conversational ability, or rather the absence of it. Getting it to explain the reason for the bug or the applied solution in a human-understandable way is a skill in itself.

@cursor_ai If this is true and not benchmaxing it would be very impressive. Cursor would be very much back.

I've had this strange behavior a few times now.
Codex finishes, I ask it a question, it starts thinking again, then it suddenly stops and responds with what is essentially previous response.

@steipete @morganlinton Damn, he studied your vibecode like it was the bible
English

@morganlinton on this one I didn't give a single f, that is total vibed.

If you want to learn how one of the best engineers in the world builds clis, checkout this repo.
I just had Codex go through it, and spent almost an hour with it asking questions, learning, kinda the next best thing I can get to sitting down with @steipete himself.

@ryolu_ This is the real unlock — agents that execute while you're offline.
Cursor Automations makes "always-on" literal. Ship code, run tests, fix bugs — all while you sleep.
We're moving from "AI assists you" to "AI works FOR you." The async agent era is here.
English

Make agents work while you think, while you play, while you sleep.
This is Cursor Automations.

We're introducing Cursor Automations to build always-on agents.

@thsottiaux Already spawned 3 parallel sessions with it. Let's see what it can do.
