@ardent__dev crow.gold - For an OSS project I'll be publishing very soon 🤞

@Varnika99 There is a more foundational issue - .env should only be used for variables. Secrets should use a secret store. One password has a cli and developer feature for injecting secrets as env vars so they stay encrypted or in mem. or use aws vault for local if your building real stuff.

@jlin1206 @suedasouschef Nice - Keep it up!
Some food for thought ;) I like cookbooks over AI, But I like the convince of AI. Cook book recipes are heavily tested, have good notes and have unique flair. Storing my favorites and then being able to have AI pull one would be 🔥.

@Av1dlive An easy comparison is email, for a short time business using email had an efficiency gain, but as soon as email was everywhere it was the minimum to be competitive.
English

@jacobiberry The idea being that abundance is accessible which makes the created thing abundant and hence inherently less in value
Fascinating I think it’s more from a perspective of overall efficiency gains

this founder replaced half his business using ai agents for <$21
>processes call transcripts.
>tracks decisions.
>manages action items.
>answers questions with full business context.
stack: Obsidian (free) + MCP (free) + Claude ($20/month)
"runs half his business"
builders will clone it immediately

@Av1dlive Efficiency != effectiveness. Lets use an example. Automate marketing copy with LLMs - You get quality and messages that reflects the same thing as your competitors meaning you don't stand out. Using an LLM for call transcripts for faster operating model is great use though.

@elgermerlo Distribution has always been hard, but TBF, its the second filter - 90% roughly of companies fail at PMF. X full of blaming dist for lack of market fit.

@AlexEngineerAI Building software, products, companies, infrastructure, (relationships even) comes with a ton of downs and failure. When its bad, look at signals, look at end goals, step back look at the big picture, breathe. Then pivot or double down.

As an engineer with 10+ years I can't count how many times I felt completely stuck. Drowning in tech debt, half-finished projects, no traction.
Nothing working. Felt like every step forward got eaten by two steps back.
But I kept asking myself: what's the alternative? Quit?
That was never actually on the table.
Just because your current build isn't gaining ground doesn't mean the approach is wrong. Sometimes the tunnel is just long.
Keep shipping. Keep iterating.
You'll look back proud that you didn't fold when momentum felt impossible - and that you became the engineer you told yourself you'd be.
English

@AlexEngineerAI You can vibe code! You just can’t know if it’s secure, you likely can’t scale, you can’t determine if implementation is too complicated or under designed.
