While Jewish synagogues, institutions, and businesses are being shot at by armed cowards, the Jewish community is left demanding answers: Why are we still unprotected? Legacy organization @ujafederation sits on hundreds of millions of dollars. Their "Jewish Security Network" alone raised $40 million last year. The resources are there, yet the results are invisible. Stop waiting on politicians and police who clearly do not care about our community. It is time to take action. We don’t need more hockey rinks or swimming pools, we need safety! We are exhausted from hearing the Jewish Security Network claim they are "working closely with police" after every single incident, while zero actual protection materializes. Let the politicians blabber on about nothing; you were given $40 million to secure our synagogues and schools. Do your job. Your current "volunteer program" is shocking and dangerous. It is shameful that our community members, often elderly Jews, are expected to sit in front of our institutions to "protect" them. Our community should not be the front line against gunmen. We call on @ujafederation to immediately hire paid-duty police officers to be stationed at every synagogue and Jewish school across Toronto and Thornhill. The cost for 100 patrol cars to sit 24 hours a day, would be approximately $8 million per year, a mere drop in the bucket of the hundreds of millions you collect from us. Hire professionals with firearms to do the protecting. Step up and do what the Jewish community demands. Protect our people now. Stop fundraising for a moment, you don’t need MORE money, you need to actually do something about this!

#hockeycanadatrial Justice Carroccia doing a good job going through the significant inconsistencies in E.M.'s statements that impaired her credibility. E.g. not describing to the police she was scared in the room, but adding that fact in her civil suit later on.

#hockeycanadatrial Too often members of the public scream, "they are innocent" or "we believe her" without understanding the specific aspects of evidence that would act against their position.

#hockeycanadatrial I would suggest that while morally this may have been a situation that many would frown upon, the evidence was always unlikely to meet the high burden of "criminal" conduct.

#hockeycanadatrial judge makes a point of saying that given the multiple conflicting statements, the spent on cross-examination of the complainant by the defence lawyers was "entirely appropriate".

#hockeycanadatrial ends with not-guilty verdict on all counts as expected. The Crown attempted to redefine the law of consent in a dangerous way - by suggesting that a person seeking consent must continue to question the other individual after they have have already expressed it.

@karenpaulscbc The Crown’s assertion in this case of what consent is (or should be) is frightening. It seemingly suggests that *explicit*, though possibly non-verbal, consent should be outlawed. That's just entirely unrealistic and it seems the judge challenged them on that.

Legal experts are concerned that the high-profile trial of five former World Junior hockey players accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2018 may lead to legislative changes that could further complicate the system.  cbc.ca/news/canada/gh…

Justice Good watched the video. She found that guards "used their thumbs as joysticks" and said she saw "criminal acts occur towards prisoners". After the torture of dozens of inmates, video showed guards "fist-bumping in what appeared to be a congratulatory fashion". Abhorent.

As someone who has to drive from Toronto to Barrie before court on Wednesday, from Barrie to Ottawa after court on Wednesday, and from Ottawa to Toronto after court on Thursday... I could very much do without this.
WxOntario@WxOntario1

Much uncertainty remains on the Wednesday/ Thursday system All 3 models have different storm tracks. The 🇨🇦 is furthest west bringing snowfall to SW/ Central #Ontario, rain for Eastern Ont 🇺🇸 and 🇪🇺 are further east, bringing mostly snow to Eastern Ont With such a large system, lake effect is almost a garuntee but wind direction/ hardest hit areas will be determined by the exact storm track Will be updating in the days to come! #OnWX

This is the weapon Israel isn’t utilizing to its fullest potential to bring Muslims and Jews closer: ARCHAEOLOGY. This is how it should be used. During my visit to the City of David in Jerusalem and other excavation sites dating back to the First and Second Temple periods, I witnessed tangible evidence of the Jewish presence in the land of Israel throughout history. Why is this important? These sites explicitly and indisputably validate the Jewish connection to this land. They stand as undeniable evidence against those on Western campuses who challenge Israel’s legitimacy or label it a “colonialist state”. These archaeological findings often align with the Hebrew Bible, and you can see the texts come to life when you visit and explore these sites. But how can this strengthen Muslim-Jewish relations? As Muslims, we believe in and revere the Prophets and righteous kings of Israel. Unfortunately, many Muslims fail to connect the dots between modern Israel and ancient Israel. The prevailing narrative portrays Israel as a foreign entity in the region, but archaeology reveals a different story: the Prophets of the Children of Israel, whom we honor in our faith, lived in this land, spoke the same language, celebrated similar festivals, and preserved traditions that many Jews still uphold today. They called the land “Israel” and archaeology proves their presence. This is an invaluable asset—or rather, a ‘weapon’—that Israel hasn’t fully harnessed. If used effectively, it could be a game changer. It would debunk the dominant misinformation about Israel’s legitimacy and history. Once that misinformation is dismantled, the rest of the false narratives would crumble like dominoes.

The whole world needs to see how during a time of war, at a packed venue in central Tel Aviv, an orchestra consisting of Jews and Arabs led by soloists Bar, Tamar, Akram, and Noor sing together in Hebrew and Arabic and thousands of audience members join in. This is what Israeli partnership looks like! Around the world, they try to portray the war as Jews against Arabs, which is why this informative video proves that Jews and Arabs in Israel live together in peace, and our war is a joint fight against the terrorists who are trying to destroy our lives here!

“Testimonies from Maccabi Tel Aviv fans indicate that everything was planned by the Arabs who attacked them. ‘They gathered in groups of 5-10 in every alley and every central exit from different train stations, around Dam Square, and especially in the streets of the Israeli hotels.’ ‘They had precise information on where to wait, and as soon as they recognized Israelis, they jumped on them with knives, clubs, pocket knives, and there are also reports of incidents of being run over by cars with Palestinian flags on them.’ ‘The police left the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans at the exit from the Johan Cruyff Arena, and in fact, the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans did not receive any police escort from the moment they boarded the trains and made their way to the hotels.’ ‘It took the police almost an hour and a half for vehicles to arrive and supposedly "intervene" in what was going on, but many fans still recorded police vehicles standing idly by and doing nothing to the Arab crowd that was next to the attacks, also throwing countless firecrackers into hotels where Israelis who fled the street were hiding.’ ‘The Dutch police sold us so that the Arabs would lynch us," tells me one of the fans who managed to escape after a particularly scary hour and arrive at the Amsterdam airport covered in blood and injured.’”

Jerry Wartski, 94 year old Holocaust survivor, shreds Kamala Harris over her comparing Trump to Hitler. “Adolf Hitler invaded Poland when I was 9 years old. He murdered my parents and most of my family. I know more about Hitler than Kamala will ever know in a thousand lifetimes. For her to accuse President Trump of being like Hitler is the worst thing I ever heard in my 75 years living in the United States. She owes my parents and everybody else who was murdered by Hitler an apology for repeating this lie.”
