Datacenters are being built on cheap technologies. Surveys say they want to implement this tech, but they don't, because it's expensive. They want to use nuclear power, but they don't; they still use diesel, because there are less regulations and it's easier to configure on-site. There may be future plans, but that's not what we see now. What we see now is unsustainable growth that will harm communities and overload their infrastructure. It's corporate carelessness.

Great question from @Milliedrewgeorge and one I want to clear up: In 2000 Ben & Jerry’s was sold to Unilever as a publicly held corporation. Jerry and I did everything that we could to try to keep it independent, but SEC rules forced the board to make a decision to have the company sold because Unilever offered so much money for it. BUT there was a legally binding agreement that we negotiated that maintained the social mission. Now Magnum is violating that legally binding agreement. #freebenandjerrys
