Through the work of the Journal, we will strive to carry forward the many important lessons he taught on Navajo/American Indian/Indigenous self-determined education.

All of us at JAIE (@jaie_asu) pay tribute to Dr. Wayne Holm. He leaves an incredible legacy of what he once called, in a keynote speech at the Stabilizing Indigenous Languages Conference, "the 'goodness' of bilingual education for Native American students." We mourn his loss.

The JAIE editorial team has learned from our Editorial Board member and friend/colleague, Dr. Tiffany Lee (@t_s_lee), that her uncle, Dr. Wayne Holm, passed away on May 18. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday but had taken a fall shortly thereafter, and his health declined.

We submitted our page proofs today for our Indigenous Motherhood in the Academy co-edited book! Grateful to do this heartwork with my sister scholars and to celebrate this milestone. It will be out in August! 🙌🏽❤️ @chris52nd @HeatherShotton rutgersuniversitypress.org/indigenous-mot…
