Huge opportunity for South Carolina to lead on commonsense regulatory reform and support the small businesses that drive our economy. @scsenategop and @SCSenateDems - a concurrence vote would get this bill over the finish line! Let’s get it done!
AFP South Carolina@AFPSCarolina

South Carolina is ONE single step away from passing transformative regulatory reform. We encourage all Senators to vote for concurrence on H.3021, the Small Business Regulatory Freedom Act!

The disparity in health insurance costs is shocking across New England. Vermont has the highest costs in the nation, while NH has some of the lowest. The difference? NH ended Certificate of Need requirements More government intrusion = higher rates

There are lots of hysterical claims about what happens when CON regulations are repealed. Steve Slivinski & I wanted to see if any of them were true. Here's our latest, in the GMU Law Review: lawreview.gmu.edu/print__issues/…

"The path forward is clear: If we want more housing, lower costs, and cleaner energy, we must make it easier to build. Permitting should empower growth, not stifle it." - @jaimiecavanaugh here at @PacificLegal

Good for them. In addition to being legally dubious, charging an "affordable housing fee" to build more housing is incoherent policy.

So yeah, four simple policy ideas that are empirically grounded Will lower spending Improve access And are very bipartisan No, they won't solve all of our problems There are no magic bullets in US healthcare But this set of reforms would help a lot bostonglobe.com/2026/02/23/opi…

States with certificate-of-need laws (which prevent hospitals from being built without government permission) have about 25% fewer hospital beds per capita than states that don’t have them.

@SenRandPaul @DutchRojas In fact, keeping CON on the books in KY disadvantages the state in its application for some of the $50billion set aside in the rural healthcare transformation fund. You should be talking to state lawmakers about the importance of repeal.

I have always supported more choices, more competition, and more freedom in health care. Allowing retailers to offer affordable plans is one more way to break the cartel that big government created. As for Kentucky’s certificate of need laws, they are not federal. I do not write Kentucky statutes.

Rand Paul fully supports the largest retailers to sell health plans. In the meantime @SenRandPaul has not removed certificate of need in his own damn state. I support free markets! Except in my own state. And now a lan for the largest retailers. I do not have the words for these politicians.
Mark Cuban@mcuban

Which insurance companies will those retailers use ? The same that got us into this mess ? Or will they create their own? And who will regulate them to make sure they have th needed capital ? Will you allow them to make further acquisitions to arbitrage more aspects of healthcare ?
