You know how everyone rushed to stores at the same time and bought out everything at once instead of staggering their visits? Now imagine that same thing in hospitals, but instead of toilet paper, it’s ICU beds and ventilators that are out. This is why everything is cancelled.

Important article for anyone thinking this is all an over-reaction: “If you wait until things are bad, you've waited too long... we have to really shut this down so our health care system doesn’t collapse the way we're seeing in other countries. The time to do this is now."
