The data so far is one lab's pilot trials, not yet a massive multi-center study. But the mechanism, glutathione decline driving multiple aging pathways, is well established. If you've tried glycine + NAC, what did you notice?

It's also worth protecting the glutathione you already have. Poor sleep, chronic stress, and heavy alcohol use all burn through it faster, so the supplement works best alongside those basics, not instead of them.

A follow-up study gave the same combo to aging mice for life. The ones getting it lived 24% longer than the ones that didn't. But not all glycine and NAC products are equal. NAC has had supply issues in recent years after a brief FDA dispute pulled some brands off shelves.

Your body uses both as raw material to build glutathione. After 20, you can't make enough of either on your own, so the factory runs short no matter how healthy you otherwise are. Glutathione doesn't stop at aging markers in humans.

In the same trial, muscle strength went up. Gait speed picked up. Insulin resistance dropped. Memory scores improved. Multiple systems moving at once, not just one number on a chart. The fix comes down to two amino acids: Glycine and NAC.

They ran it again, but this time took the amino acids away for 12 weeks after the 24-week course. The benefits started reversing. This isn't a one-time fix, it's more like refilling a tank that drains again the moment you stop. Next question: does this actually change how people function, or just their bloodwork?

A team at Baylor College of Medicine tested a fix. Adults aged 70-80 took two amino acids for 24 weeks. The findings: glutathione rose back toward levels you'd expect in someone decades younger.

Low glutathione has been linked to nearly everything doctors call "aging": oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, DNA damage, and muscle wasting. Once it runs low, cells across your whole body stop protecting and repairing themselves properly.

Running out of this one molecule ages you faster than smoking. That's based on a decade of research from Baylor College of Medicine. Adults over 70 who restored it saw muscle loss, brain fog, and slow healing reverse. Here's the molecule, and how they did it: 🧵

The researcher's own protocol: about 10g a day as a baseline. When he's just flown across time zones, 20-25g for a few days, then straight back down.

Why such big numbers? Creatine barely crosses the blood-brain barrier. Muscle takes it in easily. The brain doesn't. So a dose that fully saturates your muscles in a month does close to nothing upstairs.
