Footnote: I am asked about job opportunities here in the North Dakota oilfields. Yesterday, a supervisor told me that only 1 out of 10 new hires last a full year. Many just walk off the job That means they need to hire 300 men to fill these 30 job openings Drill baby drill

@DaveGregory22 You are 💯correct. When I was hired, it took me a few months to develop the stamina for these long days and harsh environments. Most applicants only see the money and aren't prepared for the working conditions.

@jakelogan In these days I’m sure most of the youngsters think they’re gonna go make some big bucks right up until they’re told to bust their butts, then they get a big reality check! Big money means working hard! Earn it!

@TMcTravesty Not possible in my line of work. That's why it's so hard to fill. DHS and a proficiency in English, among other things are absolute requirements here. When it comes the crude, they don't mess around.

@jakelogan This might be why so many companies hire illegal immigrant workers. Not only do they not have to pay them as much, most of them wont walk off the job. American kids nowadays have zero work ethic.
